Thanks, but NO thanks; they should continue to finance themselves through "campaigns" such as "save the polar bears" initiatives - where clearly more than enough people fall for it and already deduct their "donations" from their taxes; and if possible, please disclose how much of the said donation revenue has actually benefited the polar bears. Yes, we need a climate fund because it is becoming urgent to think about it and change our habits in order to leave a viable planet for future generations.

The only problem is what to do with this climate fund? Innovation alone in renewable energies (although it is desirable) is not enough. On the other hand, investing in existing renewable energies is a good idea. We must not forget that destroying something that works to replace it with something new but less polluting to use is also polluting. We must also think about repair (something we have been able to do for centuries) and the amortisation of objects (from an ecological perspective).

We must accept that protecting the climate will not necessarily go hand in hand with the economy. We cannot always have more, newer things, systematically throwing away what works for a new thing that is slightly less polluting to use. That is not what ecology is about!
