USA: The Price of a Geopolitics of Interference

"Those who sow the wind shall reap the whirlwind". The migration crisis in the United States is not an accident, but the result of a geopolitics of interference. By destabilising Latin America through military interventions and economic sanctions, Washington has itself exported chaos.

Today, the paradox reaches its peak with the raids carried out on American soil. These forceful operations, presented as security measures, only serve to militarise a human tragedy of which the State is the architect.

By hunting down in the heart of its cities those it has driven into exile through its foreign policies, the government is transforming its own diplomatic failure into a climate of domestic terror.

The billions invested in tracking and walls are merely the brutal treatment of a symptom. As long as Washington sows instability amongst its neighbours, it will reap, at its borders as in its streets, the shards of its domination

Foreigners in themselves are not a problem. The problem is the politicisation of issues and the influence of the media in stoking hatred. What people do not see is that offences linked to immigration are insidious. These people in irregular situations have everything to lose. They work illegally, which creates wage undercutting for people in regular situations. They are often exploited and live miserable lives. Ultimately, what we are experiencing is human trafficking. There is no miracle solution, but one thing is certain: constantly criticising those who are trying as best they can to enforce the law will end up undermining decent people by encouraging their inaction so as not to risk their lives "unnecessarily" in the face of social, political and economic pressures. As long as a world order is not in place, it is up to each state to defend its sovereignty by managing its immigration to avoid serious problems...
