"If being America's enemy is dangerous, being its friend is fatal" - a quote attributed to Henry Kissinger. Indeed, the USA has its own interests in mind, and these interests can vary depending on the president elected every four years.
Russia has historically proven to be a far more stable and reliable partner.

What dismays me is seeing how much we have abandoned our sovereignty, in the digital sphere for example.
Waze, Uber, Maps... all American apps getting rich at our expense. And the USA has even obtained an exemption for its multinationals from the 15% minimum tax agreed by the OECD!!
As someone who travels a bit, I note that most Asian countries (China, India, Russia, Japan...) have developed and support their own applications. Why is Europe incapable of doing so? And if we must accept submission, should we not at least diversify our suppliers?

What is the opposite of allies? Enemies? Adversaries? When it comes to the USA, for Europe, including Switzerland, the term competitor seems more appropriate; even if Trump is waging economic war on us. Europe has long been subjugated by the United States and is happy to be so. A few examples: the Danes, threatened with annexation over Greenland, have since this "good news" added to their order of F-35s, which cannot take off without the green light from the USA. Switzerland, incidentally, has made the same mistake. As for the British, the same applies, with their nuclear arsenal entirely dependent on the Pentagon. And what about the Big Tech companies? If tomorrow Google and Microsoft were to block their respective sites, they would paralyse the entire world, or almost. We must face facts: for 80 years, following the "Marshall Plan", European leaders have allowed themselves to be subjugated without reacting, revelling in Uncle Sam's protection. Today, they are paying the price!
