The initiatives that Donald Trump contributes to peace are - viewed neutrally and objectively - certainly worthy of appreciation. However, his showy and almost embarrassingly self-congratulatory manner strikes me as comparable to "greenwashing". On the one hand, he dazzles us with a lot of superficial show, on the other hand, he acts destructively and without any thought for how hurtful and disrespectful he treats people who don't suit him. Donald Trump is completely untrustworthy in my view. But I am also troubled by how many people follow him completely uncritically. This FIFA trophy is also, for me, an alarming symbol of how superficially and almost abusively the theme of peace is being used to stage oneself in glory and splendour. Such people leave me with the impression that they have lost all sense of self-criticism and are utterly convinced that they are doing good. Frightening.

Beneath deliberately chaotic, surprising and aggressive communication, there is a plan based on the observation that the USA no longer has the funds to play the role of world arbiter as it was asked to do, and this withdrawal into its private sphere means that the USA is not currently a factor for war.

To wage a war of conquest, one must be very wealthy or at least much wealthier than one's adversaries.

This is not the case here - the USA is broke and we can observe the withdrawal of its armed forces from almost everywhere, with the excuse that others must take responsibility for themselves (still communication that doesn't want to admit its weakness). Moreover, to regain prosperity, peace is needed, as only peace allows trade, which in turn creates added value.

Long history shows that war is truly threatening when there is rearmament of war fleets. Yet at the moment, the US Navy is neither expanding nor in an aggressive posture (there are other navies that are).
