I have already had the opportunity to develop here how much "the Russian threat" stems from fantasy, from the mantra of a fanatical political and media caste, and that the assessment of this "threat" does not withstand the slightest reflection or rational analysis (see my comment elsewhere on this thread). But well... The EU leaders need this war to make people forget their incompetence and their illegitimacy at the ballot box and in the polls... We are therefore invited to get ourselves vitrified to save their backsides. Because they won't send their own relatives to the slaughter, you can be certain of that.

What grieves me is the fact that RTSinfo, funded by everyone's money, proves incapable of a critical analysis of the EU and NATO's dangerous posture, and docilely becomes the echo chamber of the warmongering conditioning of failed leaders. If things go wrong, we will be able to hold the media clergy co-responsible for the catastrophe stimulated by political prelates without stature.

For Eastern Europe, it's indisputable - Poland is rearming and Sweden/Finland have abandoned their neutrality, the Baltic states are not readopting anti-personnel mines and cluster munitions for pure pleasure.

For Western Europe, whilst no one imagines tanks reaching us, abandoning the East would mean the end of Europe: what threatens Latvia therefore threatens Spain, hence the aid to Ukraine regardless of American will.

The case of the Balkans is particularly interesting for dialogue: Hungary and Slovakia (and Serbia, mind you) distrust Europe and therefore deny the threat; Romania and Bulgaria act like Western Europe and mainly fear hybrid warfare; in these countries we find the pro/anti-European position which in turn determines the perception of the Russian threat. It's the weighing of interests that determines the rhetoric.
