The French are through and through a political people, everyone constantly observes what is happening politically, everyone is informed about developments and events. This has been the case since the Revolution of 1789. Politicians know this very well. When they go too far, the French immediately take to the streets. Practically every Saturday there is a "manif" somewhere, mostly in Paris. Young and old participate. Demonstrations are part of everyday life. France has weathered countless political tensions and crises, and has always overcome them with reason, compromises or new elections. No, one need not worry politically about France, it has never been "ungovernable". This old democracy is fundamental, very strong. Currently, excessive national debt is in the foreground, as in many other countries as well. The problem remains the same, whether with a new government, another president or with new elections. Every legislature and executive must deal with it.
