They are becoming individualistic because it seems we no longer need to help each other, as the State is there:

This State, so generous with my neighbours who cheat by working off the books, while receiving disability insurance and other social benefits. And who take a minimal LAMAL (health insurance) deductible and minimal restrictions because they receive subsidies, so it doesn't cost them any more.

Individuals have no appreciation for what is given to them by the State, as it's simply seen as an entitlement. And they don't feel indebted or grateful.

And I, who pay so much in taxes and for this health insurance that I don't use due to the maximum deductible, the State is mainly there to restrict my freedoms.

It barely even protects me from theft and delinquency anymore.

I still make the effort to give time and money to those around me. But I understand those who no longer want to...

When education at home, in schools, or universities has been promoting reckless behavior, neglected education, ideological indoctrination, and egoism for years, and on the other hand, offenses of any kind by any people go unpunished, everyone does what they want, regardless of the consequences. However, the worst role models are our elected representatives, who do not represent the interests of their voters or even consciously lie to and deceive the people as their employers. With such role models, no one should be surprised if everyone does what they want, because the government does it unscrupulously too.

In this decadent, dishonest environment without any signs of decency and honor, a once fundamentally solid community is falling apart. Showing a little consideration for others, acting honorably, and exercising one's duties and rights as a citizen would bring everyone a bit of peace and prosperity together (not against each other).
