It would be urgent first and foremost to stop investing in poorly managed projects (ridiculous Israeli drones that are non-operational, F35s unsuited to our needs and above all too expensive and unreliable from an independence point of view, renewal of the IT system that is going way over budget, Patriot system too expensive and insufficient to defend against drones).

Why doesn't the war in Ukraine inspire our leaders (political and military) to make a complete turnaround?

There is too much lobbying that thinks more about making money than actually building a visionary and intelligent defence.

Just like the fact of not really taking a position for Ukraine and against Putin, which doesn't necessarily involve the Russians who are not all in favour of him.

History has proven the smallness of men but unfortunately we do not learn and make exactly the same mistakes again.

Being neutral should not mean being cowardly!!

For years, Parliament has been cutting the army's budget. It's not the army but politicians who set priorities. Under the guise of "reduce but maintain build-up capabilities", our defence capability was dismantled. Now, the majority of our politicians want more defence capability again. All of Europe wants to rearm, Ukraine is embroiled in a war, and as with Corona (mask debacle), armaments products are being prioritised, becoming more expensive, and Switzerland is at the back of the queue or paying significantly more. Our industry is being destroyed by restrictions on arms exports, and we are dependent on imports. The build-up capability is taking a back seat, and there's a great outcry in the press and politics. The politics of recent decades has caused this. But instead of complaining, today's politicians must change this situation, analyse the facts, and define the army's mission.

It will cost a lot of money to make the army capable of defence again.
