Remember that politicians eat and drink at every treaty signing, and in the end, their old-age pension and job positions for their children and grandchildren will be secured. The only ones who will have to bear the consequences are Swiss citizens with a single passport... because the others don't care! They live, make money abroad, spend their retirement abroad, but make decisions for those who must live in Switzerland (paying, for example, the mandatory health insurance). But when things no longer suit them, due to an illness, a war, or a pandemic, here they come back to their hometown to be supported and ask for help! Cowards! Everyone should have only one homeland and one passport! The state of Cameroon implements this, why not Switzerland? Everyone in the same boat with no lifeboats! The politicians' fear is further demonstrated by their unwillingness to hold a mandatory referendum with a double majority. Double cowards!

It is undeniable that Switzerland is very heavily dependent on its European neighbours that surround us.

Our food, our energy - particularly electricity in winter - and obviously gas and oil, everything comes from or transits through Europe.

Similarly, a large part of the workforce, especially the "manual workers", are very often European, whether in industry, healthcare, or cleaning services.

To believe that we can live independently is a great illusion. Of course, we have a particularly high standard and quality of life, but this is largely thanks to these foreigners.

We cannot continue to favour this without certain constraints.

Swiss importers impose inflated prices on us.

What is most damaging is the pressure on farmers, wine growers and other local producers.

Let's stop demonising our neighbours and look at the balance.
