When I arrived (from France) in Switzerland eight years ago, I was stunned by the price of internet/phone subscriptions. When I finally chose a subscription, I was just as stunned (but positively this time!) by the quality of customer service. So yes, Switzerland is expensive, but at least you get something in return! In France (and in Europe in general, due to competition), there's a race to the lowest prices - and it's always at the expense of quality (of products and services). Personally, I prefer to pay a bit more and be satisfied with what I buy, even if it means cutting back on non-essential things.

On the other hand, what I find unacceptable is that some cross-border sellers (online) make a killing and sell exactly the same product 50% more expensive in Switzerland than in Germany (for example), just because "in Switzerland people can afford it"...

Unfortunately, the comfort of life in Switzerland no longer outweighs the expenses that citizens must bear. Our country looks after neither its elderly nor its sick. The average citizen can no longer manage financially. The problems of healthcare costs, those related to immigration, and insecurity only continue to grow whilst the quality of life deteriorates. This is particularly striking in French-speaking Switzerland. Waiting times for quality care can exceed one year, and the reluctance to carry out the right examination or prescribe the right medication multiplies costs. Immigration grows relentlessly with a low rate of professional and social integration, which leads to a paradigm shift at this level. Swiss citizens no longer feel supported by their elected representatives but rather disavowed. A change in our social support systems is urgent.
